Global Photography: A Critical History
Global Photography: A Critical History, co-authored with Erina Duganne and Heather Diack, considers international contemporary photographic practices in relation to their historical pasts, with the goal of bringing out important and often overlooked interconnections and convergences. It is the first book of its kind to extensively contextualize international contemporary photographers in historical terms, and is organized into twelve thematic chapters that examine a diverse group of photographers working at varying points in their careers (from well-known historical and contemporary figures to young emerging artists). The themes correspond to issues, genres, and approaches that have global relevance both today and in the past.
